Why Most People Fail At Losing Weight

So many people are trying to lose weight, but failing in the process.

The reason isn’t because they’re lazy, addicted to food, or terrible at exercise. No, it’s mostly due to these factors…

1. You don’t understand the risks

For most people who are overweight, it’s true to say that they just don’t understand the risks associated with being overweight. Instead, they focus on losing weight to look better.

It’s obvious that “looking better” is a benefit of losing weight, but this should not be your main focus when losing weight.

Did you know that losing body fat will actually lengthen your life? It’s true!

Once you get it into your mind just how dangerous it is to be overweight, it can act as a wonderful motivator for losing weight, and keeping it off.

2. You don’t see it as a lifestyle change

Thinking of your diet as something temporary, is a huge mistake. You need to think of it as a lifestyle change.

When you do that, you are more likely to choose a diet that you can stick with long-term, rather than a quick fix solution.

Often, when people lose weight, they are so restrictive, that they end up becoming miserable, and losing motivation to continue.

Instead you should eat whole, healthy foods, which will help your body to naturally burn fat.

Always ask yourself, can I stick with this change for life? If so, it is more likely to be a good plan for you.

3. You buy into the hype

A lot of the time those selling diet solutions, don’t provide you with all the facts, and it can be very easy to get sold sold on the hype.

For example, “eat these berries three times a day, and you’ll lose 10 pounds.” This is why educating yourself on what a healthy diet for weight loss looks like, is so important.

If you think you can eat well one day, then cheat the next day, and it won’t have consequences, it’s not surprising you find it difficult to lose weight.

Take control of your eating right way by spending some time leaning about healthy eating, researching healthier cooking practises, and also try keeping a food journal, if you’re not sure how healthy your current diet is.
